There will be covered dish dinner and musical presentation at Cape Carteret Presbyterian Church Sunday, Aug. 30, beginning at 5:30. Please bring your friends, neighbors, relatives and your covered dish.
Our short musical program will feature musicians from the singing group "Southern Grace." Dewey Wells - vocalist and guitarist will open the evening with several gospel selections.
Stuart "Pee Wee" Wilmoth - violinist has accompanied Southern Grace since their beginnings back in the 90's and adds his distinctive musicality to the program. Their selections bring back memories of the old-fashioned Sunday Night Sings.
The audience will participate in singing several of the old-time favorites. Our own soloist, Ann Popjes will be featured on the familiar Bill Gaither song... "He Touched Me" - and knowing our Music Director, Polly Page - she'll also perform. (Keep your eyes and ears out for her to play the upright double bass and mandolin.)
We'll all end the Song Fest with the gospel medley...
"Will the Circle Be Unbroken" and "I'll Fly Away". Please plan to join us for a short musical program guaranteed to lift your souls and voices in song.
